It emerged over the weekend that Will Ospreay is out of action with a serious kidney infection.

The Commonwealth Kingpin was scheduled to defend his RevPro Undisputed Heavyweight Championship against Minoru Suzuki at Sunday's Epic Encounters show but the promotion announced Ospreay would be unable to compete after being diagnosed with a kidney infection.

It was noted in the announcement that Ospreay initially thought he had food poisoning but he was rushed to hospital after his condition worsened and was later diagnosed with the aforementioned kidney infection.

Ospreay revealed on Twitter that his body temperature was 40 Degrees Celsius, well above a normal body temperature of 37 degrees. He was also dealing with cold sweats and couldn't stand up without feeling faint.

"I honestly can't tell you how gutted I am to be missing Rev Pro. I've a temperate of 40 degree, I can't stand up without feeling the need to faint, I'm sweating then cold straight away. Friday night I had my bloods taken to find out I have a serious kidney infection. Sorry," Ospreay wrote.

Alongside his NJPW commitments, Ospreay has been a regular in RevPro in recent years and he has been the promotion's Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion since defeating Zack Sabre Jr. for the gold in February 2020.
