Will Ospreay will have one of the biggest matches of his career to date this weekend when he challenges Kenny Omega for the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on Sunday, June 25. The contest is a rematch from their match-of-the-year contender at Wrestle Kingdom 17.

Ospreay spent over a month out of action between March 13 and April 22 due to a shoulder injury. Ospreay noted when he returned that he still had a lot of weakness in his arm and the United Empire leader has now provided an update on any possible shoulder issues he has been dealing with.

"As good as it physically can be, the weight difference was for sure a factor facing Lance. The sheer mass of the guy and it not being fully healed was extremely difficult to be able to hit any type of power moves, so had to go for strikes instead," Ospreay told Knotfest.

Ospreay has had 10 matches since his return from injury. He defeated Lance Archer at NJPW Dominion for the right to challenge Kenny Omega for the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship. According to reports, the belief over the weekend was that Omega vs. Ospreay would main event Forbidden Door.
