Cameron Grimes Reveals Why It Took So Long For Him To Debut On The WWE Main Roster

There was a long absence between his NXT exit and SmackDown debut

Cameron Grimes has addressed why it took so long for him to debut on WWE's main roster after leaving NXT. Grimes was absent from November 2022 until the May 12 edition of SmackDown (where he handed Baron Corbin a seven-second loss).

Speaking with Out of Character with Ryan Satin, the 29-year-old explained why it took over six months for him to emerge.

Asked whether his disappearance was due to waiting for the right creative to come along, Grimes said: "Yeah, 100 percent. If you've watched our product in the past year, it's incredible. It's on top of its game".

He noted that the quality of segments was very high during the Royal Rumble to WrestleMania season.

"I think I would be insane to say, 'You know what? Let's cut five minutes from this Bloodline segment to establish Cameron Grimes right here,'" he continued, before adding that he took the time away from the ring to get into the best physical shape of his life.

Now that he's on the main roster, Grimes said: "I am at the pinnacle now. I am at the top. There is no higher...So only thing I can do now is stay here and try to make the most out of it".

His last televised match was a quick victory over Ashante Adonis on the episode of SmackDown that aired on May 26.
