Willow Nightingale Wins AEW TBS Title At Dynasty
Willow Nightingale is the new AEW TBS champion
Willow Nightingale is the new AEW TBS champion, after defeating Julia Hart at AEW Dynasty on Sunday night in St. Louis.
In what turned out to be a rather short match, Nightingale pinned Hart with a gutwrench sitout powerbomb, after Nightingale prevented a moonsault by getting the feet up.
After the match, Mercedes Mone interrupted Nightingale's celebration by confronting her inside the ring. The two women briefly had a staredown, before Mone left the ring. A match between the two was confirmed for AEW Double or Nothing on May 26 in Las Vegas.
Nightingale celebrated the win with Kris Statlander and Stokely Hathaway, as well as her family members, who were in the front row.
The win gives Nightingale her first defendable championship in AEW. She previously won the 2023 Women's Owen Hart Cup, after defeating Ruby Soho in the finals.
Hart's reign as TBS champion ends after 155 days. She won the title in a three-way bout over Kris Statlander and Skye Blue at Full Gear on November 18 in Inglewood, CA.
