Chris Jericho Wins FTW Title At AEW Dynasty

Chris Jericho defeats Hook to win the FTW championship

Chris Jericho is the new FTW champion, after defeating Hook at AEW Dynasty on Sunday night in St. Louis.

The match was contested under No DQ "FTW Rules". Jericho pinned Hook after hitting him in the head with his baseball bat, Floyd. Preceding the finish, Jericho hit Hook with the Judas Effect twice, but Hook kicked out both times. Before and after each move, Jericho kept asking Hook to stay down. Before the baseball bat strike, Hook flipped Jericho off.

After the match, Taz left the commentary desk to check on Hook alongside trainer Michael Sampson.

The win gives Jericho his third overall championship under the AEW umbrella. He was the promotion's inaugural World champion for six months in 2019-20, and also reigned as ROH World champion in the latter part of 2022.

Hook's second reign as FTW champion ends after 238 days. He regained the title from Jack Perry at All In on August 27 at Wembley Stadium in London. His first reign with the title lasted just over one year.
