Women's And Men's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Winners Determined
Who took the finals?
The men's and women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic finals were both contested at NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day on Sunday night, and both winners are now in line for guaranteed Tag Team championship matches.
In the evening's opener, Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez won the women's final, defeating Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart. The ending came after Kai and Gonzalez isolated Blackheart, and Gonzalez finished her off with a one-armed powerbomb.
The win earns Kai and Gonzalez a shot at WWE Women's Tag Team champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler at an indeterminate point down the line.
The men's bout was contested in the middle of the show, and saw the team of MSK (Nash Carter and Wes Lee) defeat the Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake and Zack Gibson) to take home the finals.
After Carter kicked out of a powerbomb/backstabber combination, he managed to tag Lee. The two won shortly after with a Doomsday flipping neckbreaker.
Carter and Lee will eventually challenge for the NXT Tag Team titles, currently held by Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan.
