Women's World Championship Unveiled On WWE Raw

Rhea Ripley is the Women's World Champion

Monday Night Raw has more big gold.

The June 12 episode of Monday Night Raw opened with the unveiling of the new Women's World Championship as Adam Pearce presented the belt to Rhea Ripley, replacing the SmackDown Women's Title in the process. The new title belt is similar to Seth Rollins' World Heavyweight Championship, although it has a white strap and the words 'Women's World Champion' surround the giant WWE logo.

The new Women's World Championship unveiling comes after Asuka's Raw Women's Title was replaced by the WWE Women's Title on last week's SmackDown. That belt is similar to the Undisputed WWE Universal Title belt that was recently presented to Roman Reigns.

The creation of the new women's title belts removes the confusion of the Raw Women's Champion being on SmackDown and the SmackDown Women's Champion being on Raw.

Rhea Ripley had been SmackDown Women's Champion since she defeated Charlotte Flair for the gold at WrestleMania 39. She defended the belt twice, defeating Zelina Vega at Backlash and Natalya at Night of Champions.
