World Heavyweight Title Match Set For WWE Fastlane

WWE Fastlane will see Seth Rollins defend the World Heavyweight Championship under a certain stipulation.

A World Heavyweight Championship defence is set for WWE Fastlane on October 7 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Reigning champion Seth Rollins will defend against Shinsuke Nakamura for the second consecutive premium live event, after defeating the Japanese Superstar at Payback.

Despite Seth's previous victory, he and Nakamura have remained at each other's throats in recent weeks, with Shinsuke often getting the better of the champion in terms of both physical attacks and mind games.

Rollins recently allowed Nakamura to pick the stipulation of their rematch, which is now set to be a Last Man Standing Match.

Seth is the inaugural holder of this version of the World Heavyweight Champion, winning a tournament which culminated at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia in May. He defeated AJ Styles in the final to win the belt which he's successfully defended ever since, defeating the likes of Nakamura, Finn Balor, Damian Priest and NXT's Bron Breakker in the process.

Although a three-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion in NJPW, Nakamura has never held a world title in WWE. However, he has previously won the NXT, United States and Intercontinental titles, as well as the 2018 Royal Rumble (losing his eventual title shot at WrestleMania to AJ Styles.)
