World Title Match Announced For IMPACT Wrestling Slammiversary
The Callihan Death Machine rolls on
Jun 11, 2021
The power struggle at the summit of IMPACT Wrestling is a spiralling set of affairs. On one side you have IMPAC/AEW/AAA World Champion Kenny Omega and Don Callis, on another you have former TNA Champion Moose, and on another you have the sociopathic Sami Callihan.
It was confirmed on the June 10 edition of IMPACT Wrestling that Omega will defend the IMPACT and AEW World Titles against Moose at Against All Odds, after Callihan was also mooted for the match. The match is set to take place from AEW’s home ground Daily’s Place, to ensure there is no outside interference from either The Good Brothers Gallows & Anderson or Callihan himself.
Now, IMPACT’s Scott D’Amore and AEW’s Tony Khan have confirmed that the winner of the title match at Against All Odds will defend against Callihan at Slammiversary on July 17.
Callihan has reigned as IMPACT Champion once before, defeating Brian Cage for the gold in 2019, before dropping it to Tessa Blanchard in 2020.
