WrestleMania will return to the MetLife stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on April 7th 2019 - the PPV's return to the New York-New Jersey area after playing host to WrestleMania 29 in 2013.
That show was headlined by the rematch between John Cena and then-WWE Champion The Rock - and also featured matches such as CM Punk vs. The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H.
In an official announcement on their website, WWE stated:
'The last time The Show of Shows came to MetLife was WrestleMania 29, an event held in April 2013 that grossed an excess of $72 million and attracted a sold-out crowd of 80,676 fans from all 50 states and 34 countries.'
It has also been revealed that four events will take place at Brooklyn's Barclays Center: the traditional Hall of Fame induction ceremony, NXT TakeOver, and the episodes of Raw and SmackDown following WrestleMania weekend.
These days, WWE seem more willing to return to recent venues than in previous times. This year's WrestleMania will take place at the New Orleans Mercedes-Benz Superdome, the same place we saw the well-received WrestleMania 30 pay per view in 2014 - a show widely thought to be one of the greatest 'Manias of all time.
Similarly, last year's WrestleMania took place at Camping World Stadium (formerly known as the Citrus Bowl) in Orlando, Florida - the same venue that played host to WrestleMania XXIV in 2008.
With three consecutive 'Manias taking place in southern states (Texas, Florida, and Louisiana respectively), east coast WWE fans will surely be excited to see the grandaddy of them all return to their region.
