The rumour mill continues across both WWE and AEW as we head into Saturday, September 27. The biggest stories from today involve a future Indianapolis WrestleMania, the reported buys for AEW's All Out 2025 PPV, and a rather peculiar gift given to attendees at Vince McMahon's recent 80th birthday party.

Indianapolis Have 'No Clue' When They'll Get A WrestleMania

Indianapolis agreed to a deal with WWE back in 2024 that would secure the city a Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, and WrestleMania. In 2025, the city hosted the Royal Rumble event, which saw the likes of Charlotte Flair & Jey Uso win their respective Royal Rumbles. A SummerSlam could potentially happen in 2027 due to no city being announced as of yet, but when it comes to a WrestleMania, the city is reportedly in the dark about when this will take place.

Fightful Select spoke to sources which revealed that had “no clue” about when a WrestleMania would be coming to the city. They are one of two cities currently promised a WrestleMania, as WWE took WrestleMania 42 away from New Orleans, handing it back to Las Vegas for the second year in a row. WrestleMania 43 in 2027 has been announced officially for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia too, meaning both of these cities will still be waiting for the event. Following the Wrestlepalooza show in recent weeks, sources claim a relationship with WWE is strong, but there was a "believe it when they see it” mindset to WrestleMania.

WWE Creative Details Following Brock Lesnar's Win Over John Cena

At Wrestlepalooza 2025, WWE stirred up a mixed response among fans following Brock Lesnar’s destructive victory over John Cena. Much of the negativity surrounded the fact that this was one of Cena’s final matches before retiring in December. When it comes to why WWE went down this route, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has given some details on the creative process.

It is noted that this match was all about making Brock Lesnar look strong due to the fact that they are “spending a ton” to use Lesnar, so the running idea (as has been the case throughout much of his WWE tenure) is to make him look at strong and dominant as possible before someone comes along and finally slays the beast. Other reports this week noted that Lesnar beating Cena was always the plan, and had been in place for weeks leading up to the show.

AEW All Out 2025 Estimated Buyrate

All Out 2025 was the first AEW PPV to take place on the same day as a WWE premium live event. Tony Khan made the decision to move All Out to the afternoon to avoid direct head-to-head conflict with WWE’s Wrestlepalooza. Following some reports of WWE seeking to damage AEW’s business, Wrestlepalooza was stacked with big matches featuring returns from the likes of AJ Lee and Brock Lesnar. Despite all this, sales for AEW All Out 2025 seem to be a success.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter this week, Dave Meltzer revealed that the estimated buyrate for All Out currently sits between 135,000 and 140,000, as he noted that it was similar numbers to Revolution 2025 earlier this year. It is believed that once all buys are totalled up, it will be the second most successful PPV of the year behind All In Texas.

Vince McMahon Busts Gifted To His Birthday Party Guests
Vince McMahons' birthday bust

Vince McMahon’s 80th birthday party took place earlier this year, and both reports and images emerged revealing some of the guests which included current WWE stars like Drew McIntyre, The Undertaker, Sheamus, John Cena, R-Truth, among others, in addition to big musical acts performing like ACDC and Kid Rock. Those who attended McMahon’s birthday didn’t leave empty-handed however… or empty-headed.

Steve Stasiak of Book Pro Wrestlers revealed on X that Vince McMahon gifted his guests a bust of his head to take home with them, with only 100 existing.

“Only 100 exist. Vince McMahon gave these busts to his hand-picked guests at his locked-down, NDA-protected 80th birthday party at NYC’s Baccarat Hotel. Phones not allowed or checked in. You’re looking at this for the first time anywhere. Never posted before.”

It is noted that these should have never seen the light of day after cell phones were banned and NDAs were signed regarding the party.
