Vince McMahon and WWE have officially filed to oppose Janel Grant's request to obtain new evidence from them in relation to her lawsuit.

Janel Grant submitted a request last week seeking a broad range of internal WWE and McMahon communications, including board materials, NDA drafts, and documents reviewed by federal investigators, in order to challenge the enforceability of the arbitration clause in the nondisclosure agreement she and Vince McMahon signed in January 2022. Grant has long claimed the clause is unenforceable, arguing she was under duress when the NDA was signed.

In new filings on Monday, June 30, WWE and Vince McMahon opposed Grant's request for new evidence, claiming Grant had failed to meet the legal standard for pre-arbitration discovery. It was also claimed that Grant is seeking documents unrelated to whether she was coerced into agreeing to the arbitration clause in the NDA.

Janel Grant's representatives have told POST Wrestling that McMahon and WWE are trying to block basic discovery requests "that go [to] the heart of whether the NDA and its arbitration clause are valid."

Grant's representatives added: "If they have nothing to hide, they should embrace this opportunity for transparency."

Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis in January 2024 and refiled the suit in January 2025. Vince McMahon is accused of sex trafficking, sexual assault, and physical and emotional abuse. WWE are accused of attempting to sweep the allegations against McMahon under the rug.

John Laurinaitis was recently dropped as a defendant in Janel Grant's lawsuit and he has agreed to cooperate with Grant. WWE and Vince McMahon have since refiled to move the case to arbitration, something they have repeatedly done since early 2024.
