WWE Almost Had To Cancel Bret Hart's Raw Appearance

Bret Hart made his return to WWE on September 9, with the five-time WWE Champion appearing on Raw in a segment with Gunther and Sami Zayn in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

The ‘Hitman’s appearance was up in the air on the day of Raw, with a report from Fightful Select suggesting Hart’s appearance at one point could have been cancelled due to the two-time WWE Hall of Famer feeling under the weather ahead of bell-time, however Hart was well enough to carry out his obligations, as seen on Raw.

On Raw, the ‘Excellence of Execution’ was initially praised by World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, before ‘Der Ring General’ claimed his favourite wrestler of all time was Bill Goldberg - the man Hart holds responsible for ending his in-ring career after receiving a stiff kick from him at Starrcade ’99 during Hart’s underwhelming run in WCW.

Hart later featured in a segment on Raw with niece Natalya, congratulating the former WWE Women’s Champion on her return to the company after a multi-month absence. The Raw season premiere appearance itself was Bret’s first showing on a WWE broadcast since 2022.
