NXT UK

WWE have officially announced a new UK-based performance centre at an as-yet undisclosed location.

Cultaholic will be at the site for a press conference later today (and will potentially be able to gather video footage and interviews, depending on the level of access provided).

The announcement was made courtesy of Trent Seven on ITV's Good Morning Britain. He was joined by British Strong Style stablemates Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate for an interview segment on the show, ahead of Saturday's NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool event.

Dunne is likely to headline the show, defending his NXT UK Championship against Joe Coffey. The rest of the card is as follows:

NXT UK Women's Championship: Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Toni Storm

NXT UK Tag Team Championship: Moustache Mountain vs. Grizzled Young Veterans

No DQ: Dave Mastiff vs. Eddie Dennis

Travis Banks vs. Jordan Devlin

News of the UK performance centre is particularly interesting as it seems to confirm WWE's long-term interest in UK development. Very little has been revealed thus far about the new facility, but we'll provide updates as and when they are released.

Last year, Triple H spoke of 'global localisation', a vision for the expansion of the NXT brand across the globe - and with the development of the performance centre, it seems as though this could be the first real step. Rumours circulated last year regarding the facility, with many sites reporting on the likelihood of NXT UK general manager Johnny Saint adopting a key training role alongside other legends of British wrestling. It hasn't yet been confirmed whether this is the case.
