WWE Announce NXT TakeOver 36

The night after SummerSlam 2021

WWE have announced that NXT TakeOver 36 will be presented live from the Capitol Wrestling Center on Sunday 22 August, 2021.

WWE confirmed the news during this week's edition of the black-and-gold brand, with NXT TakeOver 36 being presented one night after WWE presents SummerSlam 2021 from the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

TakeOver 36 will be the first TakeOver event presented by the black-and-gold brand since NXT TakeOver: In Your House in June, a show where Karrion Kross retained the NXT Championship in a Five-Way Match also including Kyle O'Reilly, Adam Cole, Johnny Gargano and Pete Dunne, and LA Knight won the reintroduced Million Dollar Title.

No matches have been confirmed for NXT's next TakeOver event but happenings on recent NXT shows have fans hoping that it could include the long-awaited return to the ring of Samoa Joe in some sort of bout against NXT Champion Kross.

NXT TakeOver 36 will be available, as usual, on Peacock in the United States and on the WWE Network across the rest of the world.
