Trent Wilfinger has been named WWE’s new Senior Vice President of Talent ID & Development, replacing Canyon Ceman.

Ceman was fired from his position in late July by WWE with some reports since suggesting that his departure was related to the confusing contract situation surrounding former NXT Champion Adam Cole.

Ceman had been with WWE since March 2012, initially hired as Senior Director of Talent Relations, but moved to Talent Development in 2015 and was intricately involved in the scouting, recruiting and evaluating of talents for the WWE developmental system. Ceman also helped with overseeing the WWE NXT brand.

It appears WWE have found their replacement with Wilfinger taking to social media to confirm his appointment to the position.

Writing on Twitter, he said: "Excited to share that I will be joining the WWE as their new SVP of Talent ID & Development. I look forward to working side by side with James Kimball under the leadership of Triple H to help bring to life a game changing vision and strategy."

Wilfinger previously worked for the Arizona Coyotes and the Arizona Diamondbacks in Marketing and Game Operations departments. He went on to co-found the Always Home Arizona, a home watch service for people with second homes.
