WWE Backlash 2024 Set For Lyon, France

WWE heading to France for Backlash 2024

WWE are planning to hold two pay-per-views in Europe next year.

The company has announced today that Backlash 2024 will be held on May 4, 2024 at the LDLC Arena in Lyon-Decines. The arena is very close to the Groupama Stadium, the home of Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais.

Backlash will be WWE's first-ever pay-per-view to be held in France. The company will also hold a taping of SmackDown ahead of Backlash and fans can register for a combo presale now

It has been rumoured since October that WWE will hold a premium live event in France next year, although Paris was the city that was reportedly being heavily discussed. Why WWE opted for Lyon instead of Paris is currently unclear.

WWE have held more international pay-per-views in recent years, including two shows in the United Kingdom. The company will also hold Bash in Berlin at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin, Germany on August 31, 2024. That show will take place only one week after AEW All In 2024 on August 25 at London's Wembley Stadium.
