Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre’s feud on WWE television has been a hard hitting affair, with the two set to resume their conflict in a steel cage at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Former World Heavyweight Champion Priest has not competed since Backlash on May 10, but a report from PWInsider states that talent backstage in WWE have been talking about Priest’s toughness over the past few months and how he has worked on through such a gruelling feud despite being said to be ‘very banged up’.

The feud between Priest and McIntyre had its genesis at WrestleMania 40, with Priest cashing in his Money in the Bank contract on McIntyre mere seconds after Drew defeated Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship. The two would resume their issues at the 2025 Royal Rumble, and would go toe-to-toe in a Sin City Street Fight at WrestleMania 41 in April 2025. Whilst McIntyre would win that bout, it did not quell the animosity between the two former champions and they came to blows again in a four-way for the United States Title at Backlash.

Outside the ring, Priest has been vocal about wanting WWE to return to Puerto Rico after the success of Backlash 2023 - an event that saw ‘The Archer of Infamy’ tangle with latin hip-hop star Bad Bunny.
