On the anniversary of the first-ever Hell in a Cell Match at 1997's Badd Blood: In Your House, WWE revived Bad Blood and presented the pay-per-view/premium live event from State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, October 5.
Unlike in 1997, though, the Hell in a Cell Match opened the show as CM Punk and Drew McIntyre settled their feud. The main event saw Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns team together against Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu, but would The Rock make an appearance?

CM Punk def. Drew McIntyre - Hell In A Cell
After 10 months of issues, CM Punk's rivalry with Drew McIntyre came to an end inside Hell in a Cell. The two competitors didn't waste much time before dishing out the violence as they both went crashing into the side of the cell. A table was soon introduced and used as an unconventional weapon, as CM Punk used one of the legs of the table and drove it into Drew McIntyre's Adam's apple. McIntyre was then sent crashing onto the bottom of the table before he managed to narrowly escape having his eye driven into a table leg.
The action spilt to the floor as CM Punk tried to connect with a GTS. McIntyre managed to escape, though, and he levelled Punk with a Claymore. McIntyre wasted no time in pressing home his advantage, launching Punk into the side of the cell. One blade job later and CM Punk was pouring blood before he took an unprotected steel steps shot to the head. One stomp on the steel steps later led to minutes of McIntyre dominance.
Punk managed to rally, connecting with a Running Knee in the corner before an Axehandle from the top rope. McIntyre soon shut down Punk's flurry with a Belly To Back Suplex. McIntyre looked to go for a Claymore Kick but Punk rolled to the outside and battered Drew with a toolbox to the face that left 'Irn Dru' gushing blood from his head. Two blade jobs in a WWE match!
CM Punk followed up with more running knees and a GTS but Drew McIntyre rolled to the outside. CM Punk couldn't believe how unlucky he had been which left him open to a Claymore from Drew. The fans in Atlanta thought that was it but Punk kicked out at 2.9.
After more back-and-forth action, McIntyre was next to hit a huge spot as he Suplexed Punk from the apron through a table on the floor. McIntyre brought steel steps into the ring but this only gave Punk time to recover and he decked the former TNA World Heavyweight Champion with a GTS. McIntyre kicked out at two and followed up with an Air Raid Crash on the steel steps for another near fall.
Drew went for something but failed miserably as Punk reversed into the Anaconda Vice. McIntyre tried to use a wrench to free himself but Punk grabbed it and beat Drew over the head with the tool used to tighten bolts. McIntyre egged Punk to hit him again but Drew hit him with a Low Blow as the referee only looked on.
McIntyre retrieved a bag from under the ring and poured bracelet beads over Punk's head. Drew then looked to hit Punk with another Claymore but he crashed and burned, with his lower back smashing off the steel steps. Punk then wrapped a steel chain around his knee, shoved beads down McIntyre's throat, and hit his longtime rival with another GTS for the win.
After 30 minutes and a whole lot of blood, CM Punk ended his programme with Drew McIntyre with two wins and one loss. Post-match, CM Punk received oxygen while Drew McIntyre tried to hold back tears in the ring.
Nia Jax (c) def. Bayley - WWE Women's Championship
The WWE Women's Title was on the line in the second match of Bad Blood and Nia Jax dominated the early going, using her power and wrestling very slowly against Bayley. The challenger managed to fight back, using her speed to hit Jax with a Dropkick on the outside. Jax fought back but Bayley blocked a Banzai Drop and went for a Powerbomb until Nia Jax countered with the worst Hurricanrana in the history of pro wrestling.
Bayley soon fired back with a Running Knee and Sunset Flip into the corner, only for Jax to sit on her opponent by mistake. A Flying Elbow from Bayley was followed by Jax kicking out at two with such venom that Bayley was launched to the floor.
Bayley gained the upper hand again on the outside and was set to win by count-out. That wouldn't have won Bayley the title, though, so she broke the count and ate a Lariat on the floor from Jax for her trouble. The WWE Women's Champion then hit Bayley with a Powerbomb on the steel steps and swung Bayley's head into the barricade before she gloated back in the ring and taunted her opponent with slaps to the face.
Bayley then hit a Rough Rider on Jax but Nia made the pin for a two count in a weird moment. After Michael Cole admitted it was odd, Bayley hit the champion with a Samoan Drop. Jax then crushed the referee moments later, landing on the official. Bayley followed up with the Stundog Millionaire and Rose Plant but there was no referee to count the pin.
At this point, Tiffany Stratton made her way to the ring and she was set to cash in as the referee came around, only for Nia Jax to sit up like The Undertaker and question what her ally was doing. Bayley pushed Jax into Stratton, crushing Stratton in the process. A roll-up almost scored the win for Bayley but Jax kicked out!
Bayley went for a Flying Elbow but Tiffany Stratton distracted the challenger. This allowed Jax to recover and she decked Bayley with an Avalanche Samoan Drop before connecting with the Banzai Drop for the 1-2-3.
Damian Priest def. Finn Balor
The issues between Finn Balor and Damian Priest came to a head in the third match at Bad Blood and Finn Balor soon gained control of the in-ring action, working over his former tag team partner for several minutes. Damian Priest managed to fight back briefly with a brutal right hand before Balor gained the upper hand again following a Russian Leg Sweep.
Damian Priest eventually managed to connect with some offence, hitting a Falcon Arrow for a near fall. He followed up with a Discus Lariat soon after and then decked his former friend with a Razor's Edge for a near fall after some back-and-forth action. Priest followed up with a Razor's Edge on the apron to Balor which left Finn begging for mercy.
Damian Priest looked set to go for the win but Carlito ran down to distract the referee. This allowed JD McDonagh to attack Priest and Balor followed up with a Shotgun Dropkick and Coup De Grace but Priest kicked out at two. Priest then wiped out everyone but Balor managed to regain the upper hand and followed up with two Coup De Graces to the back of Priest's head. Balor then went for another Coup De Grace but Priest countered into South of Heaven for the victory.
Triple H Announcement
After mentioning his career as Tera Ryzing in World Championship Wrestling and announcing Bad Blood was WWE's largest gate for an arena show in company history, Triple H said at Crown Jewel there would be WWE Champion vs. World Heavyweight Champion and WWE Women's Champion vs. Women's World Champion matches at Crown Jewel and the winners would be crowned the 2024 Crown Jewel Champion.
This brought out Gunther who told Goldberg he was, in fact, not his favourite wrestler and that Goldberg was just a one-trick pony. This led to big "Goldberg" chants in his hometown of Atlanta before he told Gage that he hopes Bill is a better father than he was a wrestler. That was too much for Goldberg and he climbed over the barricade, only to be quickly swamped by security. Sami Zayn then attacked Gunther from behind, ending the segment on top as the two rivals had to be separated ahead of their World Heavyweight Title match on Raw.
Back in the ring, Triple H raised Goldberg's hand and the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion bathed in the adulation of the fans in State Farm Arena.
Rhea Ripley def. Liv Morgan (c) by DQ - Dominik Mysterio suspended above the ring in a shark cage.
As Dominik was suspended in the shark cage, he was able to witness Rhea Ripley toy with the Women's World Champion as Ripley slowly worked over Liv Morgan in the opening minutes. Morgan managed to fight back, applying the Half Crab to target Rhea Ripley's left knee.
After more back-and-forth action, Liv Morgan launched Ripley into the barricade with a Code Red before she followed up with a Codebreaker in the ring for a near fall. Morgan went for an Oblivion but Ripley rolled through and followed up with a big boot, only for Liv to counter the Riptide into the Homewrecker for another two count.
Liv Morgan followed up with slaps and two of the Three Amigos before Ripley blocked and hit a Razor's Edge. At this point, Dominik got the door of the shark cage open and he had to watch Rhea Ripley pay homage to Eddie Guerrero and do a 'YEET' before hitting a Frog Splash. Ripley then applied the Prism Lock before she battered Liv on the outside underneath the shark cage.
Ripley then hit a Riptide on the outside and Mysterio tried to help by leaving the cage but he got his foot caught on a rope and was simply left dangling from the cage. Ripley announced she was going to take care of unfinished business instead of pinning Liv Morgan and Rhea proceeded to beat her former boyfriend with a kendo stick.
Rhea Ripley was then laid out from behind as Raquel Rodriguez made her return. Rodriguez attacked Ripley right in front of the referee, though, and the official initially pretended he didn't see what happened before calling for the bell, ending the match by DQ. Rodriguez still decided to lay out Ripley with a Chingona Bomb and put Morgan on top of Ripley to make a cover that no longer needed to be made.
Cody Rhodes & Roman Reigns def. Solo Sikoa & Jacob Fatu
Cody Rhodes didn't receive the last entrance in his hometown, playing second fiddle to Roman Reigns as 'The OTC' made his way to the ring in the final entrance of the night.
The match, as expected, began very slowly and settled into Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa working over Roman Reigns in a long heat segment. Reigns eventually made the hot tag to Cody Rhodes and the Undisputed WWE Champion ran wild on Jacob Fatu, hitting a Bionic Elbow and Cody Cutter before Jacob escaped a Cross Rhodes due to interference from Solo Sikoa.
This allowed Jacob Fatu to level the Undisputed WWE Champion with a Pop-Up Samoan Drop and The Bloodline spent the next 10 minutes working over Cody Rhodes as Roman Reigns watched on helplessly. The hot tag was eventually made to Roman Reigns and 'The Big Dog' went for the Superman Punch but it was blocked. Roman then blocked a Samoan Spike with a Crucifix Pin for a near fall and followed up with a Superman Punch for another two count.
The Bloodline soon fired back with Jacob Fatu hitting a Moonsault and Solo hitting Roman with a Splash. Cody broke up the pin, though, and sent Jacob Fatu crashing through the barricade moments later. That didn't keep Jacob down and he began throwing chairs at Cody despite it being a standard tag team match. Rhodes simply followed up with a Cross Rhodes on the floor before a Splash from the top rope through the announce table.
This left Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa in the ring alone and after trading strikes, Roman connected with another Superman Punch. Reigns then set up for the Spear but he was distracted by Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa like an idiot babyface which allowed Solo to hit a Spear. The fans in Atlanta feared that was it but Roman kicked out at two.
After some taunting, Solo was distracted by a hooded man who was revealed to be Jimmy Uso. The distraction allowed Roman Reigns to hit a Spear on Solo for the victory.
After Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso embraced, Roman turned his attention to Cody Rhodes, who had crawled back into the ring with his Undisputed WWE Title belt. Roman and Cody had a staredown before Reigns and Jimmy walked away. This left Cody alone to be beaten down by The Bloodline before Jimmy and Roman made the save for the Undisputed WWE Champion after Jimmy encouraged Reigns to do the right thing.
After clearing the ring, Roman Reigns picked up the Undisputed WWE Title belt and reluctantly handed it to Cody. As the show looked set to go off the air, "IF YA SMELL" filled the arena and The Rock spent some time staring from the ramp at Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns before he gave a cheeky eyebrow raise and signalled 1-2-3 on his hand before leaving.
That was all she wrote for WWE Bad Blood.
