WWE Board Members Resigned Because Of Vince McMahon's Return

Vince McMahon causes turmoil in WWE

It has been confirmed that two members of WWE's Board of Directors resigned because of Vince McMahon's return to the company.

McMahon made his return to WWE last week, electing himself and former Co-Presidents George Barrios and Michelle Wilson to the Board of Directors on January 5. Their returns caused JoEllen Lyons Dillon, Jeffrey Speed, and Alan Wexler to be removed from the Board of Directors, while Ignace Lahoud and Man Jit Singh tendered their resignations from the Board.

Within an SEC filing on January 11, it was noted that Lahoud and Man Jit Singh resigned because of McMahon's return, with it being stated: "While Messrs. Lahoud and Singh agreed with the Board's decision to explore the Company's strategic alternatives, they did not agree with Mr. McMahon's return at this time."

Following McMahon's return, the WWE Board of Directors elected the 77-year-old as Executive Chairman on January 10, the same day that Stephanie McMahon resigned from the company. WWE are pursuing a sale and reports noted in the early hours of January 11 that a sale to the Saudi Arabia PIF had been agreed but that has since been denied.
