New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s upcoming Battle in the Valley show is set to be a bumper event, with the in-ring debut of Mercedes Moné set to be one of the show’s main events.

In a further update, New Japan revealed that the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship will be defended on the show, with the winner of the Kazuchika Okada vs. Shingo Takagi title match on February 11 in Osaka set to defend the gold at Battle in the Valley against an as-of-yet unannounced opponent.

This will be the first time the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship has been defended on US soil since Jay White successfully retained the gold against Adam Cole, Okada, and Hangman Page at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door in June 2022.

Elsewhere on the show, KENTA is set to face whomever is in possession of the NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship, with Fred Rosser currently in the middle of his first reign with the title, whilst David Finlay vs. Bobby Fish, and Alex Coughlin vs. J.R. Kratos will take place on the pre-show.
