WWE Bringing In Hall Of Famer For SmackDown

WWE Hall of Famer planned for SmackDown

A WWE Hall of Famer will be making an appearance at least in the arena on Friday's episode of SmackDown.

Friday Night SmackDown will emanate from Memphis, Tennessee on March 15 and PWInsider has reported Jerry "The King" Lawler has announced that WWE have booked him to appear at the taping. Lawler was scheduled to appear at the Big Event convention in New York City on Saturday but he is no longer able to appear at the event due to WWE booking him for SmackDown.

Although no longer utilised as a full-time commentator in the company, Lawler continues to make appearances on WWE TV. He last appeared on WWE's YouTube channel in November, selecting qualifying matches for the Iron Survivor Challenges that took place at NXT Deadline on December 9.

Lawler suffered from health issues throughout 2023 following a stroke at the beginning of the year.

Jerry Lawler is from Memphis and he is synonymous with wrestling in the city through working for Jerry Jarrett's USWA promotion where Lawler was the top star.

Already announced for SmackDown is an appearance from The Rock. The Brahma Bull is scheduled to team with Roman Reigns to face Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins in the main event of WrestleMania 40 night one.
