WWE Cancels Upcoming Tour Of Japan

More live events that are no longer happening...

WWE has formally cancelled its upcoming events that were set to take place in Japan. These include one event in Osaka, and two in Yokohama, scheduled for the first week of July.

WWE's Japanese website writes, "Unfortunately, we will not be holding the "WWE Live Japan" scheduled for July 2nd (Thursday) Edion Arena Osaka and July 3rd (Friday) and 4th (Saturday) Yokohama Arena this year. Tickets will be refunded from June 8th (Monday) 10:00 to July 12th (Sunday) 23:59."

The company tends to run Japan annually in late June and early July for a handful of shows. The planned July 4 show in Yokohama would've coincided with the five year anniversary of the 2015 "Beast in the East" WWE Network special in Tokyo.

Japan recently lifted its State of Emergency, and announced that empty arena sports can begin on June 19. While New Japan Pro Wrestling has avoided running events of any kind during the pandemic, its parent company, Bushiroad, announced that events are expected to resume soon, with a press conference scheduled for this Tuesday.
