WWE Champion Drew McIntyre Responds To Tyson Fury's Challenge

He isn't impressed with Fury as a fighter...

Over the weekend, WBC and The Ring Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury issued a challenge to WWE champion Drew McIntyre. In a 51-second video he recorded while traveling via train, "The Gypsy King" intimated that he'd love to punch McIntyre in the face, and thereby challenged McIntyre to a fight of some kind.

McIntyre tweeted out a response on Monday, and while he didn't formally accept an official match, he didn't exactly back down, either, firing back with a few barbs of his own.

McIntyre wrote, "I'm not one of the normal bums you pick to fight, I'm not some punching bag getting paid to turn up and lose. Nice timing by the way, even with a fractured jaw I'm pretty confident I could do 12 rounds with your pillow fists. Nice try, 'King.'"

There had been rumblings since the spring about Fury wanting to challenge McIntyre to a match of some sort. He has previously wrestled one match for WWE, defeating Braun Strowman via countout in a match at last year's Crown Jewel in Riyadh.
