The awards were presented in a virtual ceremony on Wednesday

WWE were announced as the winners of two awards at the Cynopsis Sports Media Awards.

Presented in a virtual ceremony on Wednesday 21 April, Vince McMahon's promotion won two of the 49 honours up for grabs.

The WWE Network was declared the winner of the Over The Top (OTT) Content Service, while the WWE ThunderDome Virtual Fan Experience, by WWE and The Famous Group, was able to claim the Best Tech Innovation During the COVID-19 Pandemic Award.

The ThunderDome was developed by WWE and The Famous Group and first utilised in August, from Orlando's Amway Center, having utilised Performance Center Trainees and talent's friends and family as a live audience during the early days of the coronavirus pandemic.

WWE Advanced Media Group Executive Vice-President Jayar Donlan was also recognised as a finalist for Digital Executive, with the award going to NASCAR's Tim Clarke.

Described as the industry’s premiere business awards program honouring the best work in sports media, the 2021 Cynopsis Sports Media Awards recognises talented individuals across production, marketing, and technology teams, saluting their hard work and innovation from the one of sports media’s most challenging years to date.
