WWE recently filed to trademark 12 new in-ring names with the United States Patent & Trademark Office and the owner of one of those names has already been revealed.

WWE developmental talent Josh Black has confirmed on X/Twitter that he will be known as Osiris Griffin moving forward, changing his X handle to @Osiris_WWE. Black confirmed the new name is inspired by his Egyptian heritage.

Osiris was one of the most important gods in Ancient Egypt and was both the god of fertility and the god of the underworld.

Josh Black signed with WWE in 2023 on a three-year deal after taking part in the company's pre-SummerSlam tryouts that year. Black was previously a defensive lineman at Syracuse University. He was a part of the New Orleans Saints preseason roster in 2022 but he was cut before the season opener.

Black has yet to appear on WWE TV but he has worked 12 matches at NXT house shows in Florida, facing the likes of Lince Dorado and Oro Mensah.
