World Championship Wrestling in 1992 was more of a threat to WWE than All Elite Wrestling is today, a WWE executive allegedly told Kevin Nash.

Nash said on his Kliq This podcast: "I talked to a very, very high-up WWE person, yes [Sean Oliver asked if he meant executive], and I won’t divulge his name. But I said to him, ‘I actually think that WCW in ‘92 was more of a threat to the WWE right now than AEW was, and he said, ‘F*ck, without a doubt.'"

1992 was not a banner year for WCW. The promotion had popular acts like Sting, the Dangerous Alliance, and the Steiner Brothers, but WCW were without Ric Flair and had a bunch of comedic characters on TV like Vinnie Vegas.

All Elite Wrestling are firmly number two in pro wrestling due to WWE's current boom period. AEW Dynamite lost a ratings battle to WWE NXT on Wednesday, November 6 but Tony Khan's promotion were reportedly unconcerned about the situation.

AEW will be profitable for at least the next three years from 2025, having secured a new TV deal with Warner Bros. Discovery worth $555 million from January 2025 through December 2027.
