WWE File Trademark For 'Piper Niven'

Doudrop debuted on WWE Raw earlier this year

WWE have reportedly filed a trademark for the name 'Piper Niven', hinting that Raw superstar Doudrop could be set for a return to her former gimmick.

Known as Piper Niven during her time in WWE NXT UK, her name was changed to 'Doudrop' as she debuted on the WWE main roster earlier this year, becoming associated with Eva Marie as her protégée.

According to PWInsider, however, WWE have moved to trademark a number of names with Piper Niven, Odyssey Jones and Ivy Nile among the filed names. The move has led to speculation among fans that Doudrop could soon be returning to her former moniker on Monday Night Raw.

Since Marie's release from WWE last month, Doudrop has been turned heel and booked in a feud with former SmackDown Women's Champion Bianca Belair. A return to her previous name would signal a switch back to the attitude that made Piper Niven so entertaining in WWE NXT UK.

Belair defeated Doudrop by count-out on last Monday's episode of WWE Raw.
