Paul Robinson Returns At British Indie Wrestling Show Following Investigation Into Allegations

His first match since being named during the Speaking Out movement

Paul Robinson has been spotted back working on the British independent wrestling scene, despite allegations raised against him during the Speaking Out Movement.

The former PROGRESS Wrestling Proteus Champion returned to the ring on Saturday, December 11, performing for the Essex-based Reloaded Championship Wrestling Alliance against Callum Newman.

It was then announced following the match that Robinson would face NJPW's Will Ospreay at RSWA Wrestling's upcoming show on January 21, 2022.

Robinson was previously a star on the British independent wrestling scene until he was accused of relations with a 16-year-old during the Speaking Out movement. He later worked as a producer at PROGRESS Wrestling tapings in February 2021 but he parted ways with the promotion following a backlash to him working the tapings.

Ahead of Robinson's return to the ring, a member of the RCWA Wrestling management team admitted they were fully aware of the allegations against the 33-year-old but "we have conducted an investigation along with those at PROGRESS Wrestling which found that Paul had done no wrongdoing. We also have in writing from the accuser's parents that Paul should be able to continue performing and that the whole situation got out of hand."

The allegations against Robinson are as follows:

"On 6th December 2014, a group of us from IPWUK were flown over to Oberhausen, Germany, all paid for by Daniel Edler (or.... at least he paid for all of it for me). At this time I was 16. We spent the day being shown around the area by Jimmy Havoc. Whilst wandering the streets, Paul Robinson and myself started talking more and more and it was really fun, we felt comfortable around each other. During the WXW show later that night (a show at which Daniel Edler purchased me lots of drinks, I think that should go without saying at this point.), we both went outside for a cigarette together, and one thing led to another and we ended up kissing. We were inseparable that whole weekend. In the following weeks, we would share phonecalls together just to chat and hear each other's voices. Somehow his children's mother ended up finding out we were talking and sent me nasty messages. I was 16 why would I want to be in a situation like that? We drifted apart and he eventually blocked me on social media, and that was that really."

Robinson issued a statement about the allegations against him earlier this year, which you can read here.
