New trademarks have been filed by WWE for roster members

WWE’s trademark activity can often be a good way to track what the upcoming plansare in the promotion and which superstars they see sticking around for the foreseeable future, and this is the case in several ring names which WWE have recently filed trademarks for.

The company has filed trademarks for multiple names on the current Friday Night SmackDown roster, and those names include Akam, Rezar, Paul Ellering, The Creed Brothers, The LWO, and Carlito. A couple of Monday Night RAW roster members have had ring names filed too such as DIY and Ivar. The description of the trademarks is as follows.

“Mark For: “RING NAME” trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”

All of these aforementioned names have been regulars on RAW and SmackDown for several months.
