AEW have had a busy old time over the last couple of weeks when it comes to new signings, bringing in a whole bunch of names such as Tatevik, Jake Doyle, Alec Price, Jordan Oliver, and The Rascalz. Additionally, several names were announced as having dual deals with CMLL, including Hechicero, Mascara Dorada, and Persephone. In the case of Persephone, AEW were not the only promotion interested in signing her to a deal.

According to a report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE were also high on Persephone and were interested in bringing her in… and have been interested for quite some time. Back in August of 2025, Persephone was featured in a fatal four way for the AEW TBS Championship on the Forbidden Door PPV card in London, England, losing out as Mercedes Mone successfully defended the title against her, Bozilla, and Alex Windsor. Persephone followed this up with a standout match with Mone in CMLL.

Meltzer explains that WWE have had their eyes on Persephone since Forbidden Door, but did not end up pursuing her.
