WWE Network To Be Shut Down At End Of 2024

WWE Network to be shuttered at the end of 2024

The WWE Network will soon be a thing of the past.

WWE announced this week that Raw will air on Netflix in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and other territories from January 2025. The WWE-Netflix deal will have a greater impact internationally as all WWE programming, including SmackDown, NXT, and premium live events will air on Netflix. This includes in the United Kingdom from January 2025 as the TNT Sports deal is believed to be expiring at the end of 2024.

The status of the WWE library was unclear following the announcement but Dave Meltzer has reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the WWE Network will be closed at the end of the year and classic content will be moved over to Netflix outside of the United States. The WWE Network in the United States is currently on Peacock and will remain on that service until at least 2026.

"The WWE Network itself does exist outside of the United States. That will be folding at the end of the year. Netflix will pick up the content... Now will they pick up all the content, all the archives? I don't know but they will be the sole source of that, the archival content of all the old territories and all the old stuff that was on the old WWE Network, that will move to Netflix outside of the United States in January," Meltzer stated.

WWE founded the WWE Network in 2014, effectively ending their pay-per-view business in the process, and it was available for $9.99 per month. The streaming service was merged into Peacock in the United States back in 2021 but it remains available internationally.
