Pillmanising, Steiner maths and more
Nov 17, 2021
WWE aired the latest edition of NXT 2.0 on November 16.
The show opened with Dexter Lumis vs. Tony D'Angelo and the man who definitely isn't a gangster picked up a quick win after he distracted the official with an easel and cheap-shotted Lumis with a thumb to the eye. D'Angelo then followed up with a Twisting Fisherman's Buster for the 1-2-3.
After the match, Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes charged to the ring to beat down Lumis and they Pillmanised poor Dexter's hand in a steel chair. Lumis' father-in-law Johnny Gargano then came to the ring and called out Hayes, saying the NXT North American Champion made things personal by attacking Johnny Wrestling's family.
Pete Dunne then made his way to the ring and told Gargano he can't just weasel his way to a title shot. This led to a whole lot of bickering until Carmelo Hayes pitched a Triple Threat Title Match for next week. That match was made official later in the show.
In the main event, Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai continued their personal rivalry.
Both women fought back and forth for much of the contest and they ended up fighting over a shovel down the stretch. Gonzalez looked set to batter her former friend with the weapon but Toxic Attraction suddenly attacked the former NXT Women's Champion to draw the DQ.
Cora Jade then charged down to make the save, only to be laid out by Toxic Attraction herself. The injured Zoey Stark hobbled into the arena next followed by Io Shirai and The Genius Of The Sky went bonkers with a crutch as the babyfaces stood tall. Shirai then yelled "War Games", issuing the challenge for the NXT special.
The NXT Title picture was also spotlighted on NXT 2.0 as Tommaso Ciampa and Bron Breakker came face-to-face. The NXT Champion spoofed the famous Steiner maths promo before he called Breakker a puppy and left with his title.
