WWE NXT Announces New Year's Evil

Another TV special is on the way...

WWE announced during last night's NXT TakeOver: WarGames that the black and gold brand's next major event will be New Year's Evil on January 6. The show will be a TV special on the USA Network, similar to The Great American Bash and Halloween Havoc from earlier this year.

WWE.com wrote about the event:

"Ready for 2021? Prepare to ring in the new year with the black-and-gold brand!

"NXT will present New Year’s Evil on Wednesday, Jan. 6.

"How will the Superstars of NXT kick off 2021? What will the new year hold for champions Finn Balor and Io Shirai? Who will step up to take center stage, as the calendar turns toward a new era for the black-and-gold brand?

"Find out by tuning in to NXT New Year’s Evil, Wednesday, Jan. 6, at 8/7 C on USA Network!"

Similar to Halloween Havoc and The Great American Bash, New Year's Evil is inspired by a former WCW themed show. The December 27, 1999, edition of Monday Nitro was named New Year's Evil and was built around the Lethal Lottery.
