WWE NXT New Year's Evil Announced For January 2022

NXT's first television special of 2022

WWE have announced the return of NXT New Year's Evil as the brand's first television special of the new year. 

It was confirmed during Sunday's NXT WarGames broadcast that New Year's Evil would be returning, with NXT set to host the television special on Tuesday 4 January 2022 on the USA Network.

WWE introudced New Year's Evil in 2021, with the inagural television event his past January seeing Finn Balor defeat Kyle O'Reilly to retain the NXT Championship, while Raquel Gonzalez beat Rhea Ripley in a Last Woman Standing Match on the show. Dexter Lumis also served as the episode's special host.

NXT has a history of television specials embedded throughout the year. The most recent saw the brand host Halloween Havoc in October; a show which saw new NXT Tag Team, NXT Women's and NXT Women's Tag Team Champions all crowned.

January 2022 will also feature WWE's first-ever New Year's Day pay-per-view, with WWE Day 1 taking place at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Saturday, January 1.
