WWE NXT Results - April 13, 2021: NXT Moves To Tuesday Nights

2 title matches and the fallout from NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver

On the heels of NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver, the black and gold brand began its new residency on Tuesday nights. The fallout from Stand & Deliver was very much the focus and new champions celebrated while prospective challengers made their intentions clear.

This week's show opened with a promo from new NXT Champion Karrion Kross and Scarlett. The Herald Of Doomsday put on record his respect for Finn Balor before he promised to defeat all those who dare to come after the NXT Title.

A video package showcasing WrestleMania 37 and TakeOver: Stand & Deliver followed and then it was time for the first match of the night as MSK defended the NXT Tag Team Championship against Killian Dain and Drake Maverick.

The challengers were competitive during the 10-minute match and Maverick almost picked up the win down the stretch with a roll-up, but it wasn't meant to be. Maverick and Dain fought valiantly but MSK caught Drake with their Hart Attack-Blockbuster combination for the 1-2-3.

A bumpy road could be ahead for the new NXT Tag Team Champions, though. They ultimately picked up the win, but there were pockets of boos from the NXT crowd towards Nash Carter and Wes Lee.

Following the match, Alexander Wolfe entered the ring and distracted Killian Dain, which allowed Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner to attack The Beast Of Belfast from behind.

NXT then turned its attention to the storyline between Mercedes Martinez and The Robert Stone Brand. A clip from earlier in the day was shown of Martinez demanding her money from Stone, and when he stalled, she started choking Aliyah. This brought out Jessi Kamea for the save and set up a match on the episode.

Before the match, though, a video package showed Kyle O'Reilly and Adam Cole being taken to the hospital after their Unsanctioned Match at Stand & Deliver. While O'Reilly appeared to put an exclamation point on their feud, Cole still has some issues to settle with his former friend as he screamed at Kyle while they entered the hospital on stretchers side by side.

Mercedes Martinez and Jessi Kamea then had a short match. Kamea dominated the action until Martinez dodged a Crossbody and followed up with a Running Knee and an Air Raid Crash for the win after 90 seconds. Mercedes then finally got her money from Stone and told the commentary team she was coming for Raquel Gonzalez and the NXT Women's Championship.

Next on the show was a promo from Santos Escobar and Legado del Fantasma. The Undisputed Cruiserweight Champion reflected on his win and laid out an open challenge, which was immediately answered by Kushida, who wore trunks to the ring instead of his usual jeans.

Both men fought back and forth for 11 minutes in a very good match, and despite Escobar only just becoming Undisputed Champion, Kushida surprisingly pinned him and won his first title since joining WWE. The Time Splitter reversed a Phantom Driver attempt into a roll-up down the stretch and both men exchanged cradles until Kushida leveraged himself into a better position and pinned Escobar's shoulders to the mat.

The new champion will have to watch over his shoulder, though. After a commercial break, William Regal congratulated Kushida while he was in the trainer's room, but they were interrupted by Jordan Devlin, who said he was going away for a little while but would be coming for the title when he returns.

MSK also have challengers on the horizon as a reunited Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher appeared in a pretaped vignette and declared they were coming after the NXT Tag Team Championship.

The broadcast then headed back to the ring and new NXT Women's Champion Raquel Gonzalez cut a promo alongside Dakota Kai. Gonzalez reflected on her NXT journey so far, and similar to Kross earlier in the night, she put over Io Shirai before she declared the Raquel Gonzalez era has officially begun.

Before she could continue, the lights in the Capitol Wrestling Center suddenly went out and the former Taya Valkyrie, now Franky Monet, headed to the ring with her pomeranian.

The former IMPACT Knockouts Champion introduced herself to NXT and told Gonzalez she will be seeing a lot more of her. Gonzalez didn't take too kindly to the interruption, however, and told Monet she'll shove the pomeranian straight up her ass if she ever interrupts her again. Franky then repeated her earlier line and headed to the back.

This appeared to bring the segment to an end, but Rhea Ripley's music suddenly blared over the titantron and the new Raw Women's Champion headed to the ring and embraced Gonzalez. That wasn't all, though, as Bianca Belair's music played next and all three women held up their gold in the ring and had a group hug to end the segment.

A backstage promo from Pete Dunne followed and The Bruiserweight repeated the line that he is the best technical wrestler in WWE before he said he was going after championship gold.

William Regal then revealed Sarray will make her NXT debut next week before he entered his office for a meeting with Roderick Strong and Marina Shafir. The Master Of The Backbreaker appeared torn, but he told Regal he was done and handed in his resignation. Regal said he was welcome back anytime.

Following this, Leon Ruff and Isaiah "Swerve" Scott and continued their rivalry and went one on one once again. Both men showed how personal their feud had gotten and Scott finally picked up a win over Ruff after connecting with the Storm Cradle Driver.

Zoey Stark appeared in a backstage interview next on the show and she talked about the hard work she had put in to get to NXT and wrestle at TakeOver: Stand & Deliver. She then said she had her eyes on the NXT Women's Title. Mercedes Martinez was having none of that, though, and interrupted the interview. The two women will undoubtedly square off in the weeks to come.

NXT then turned its attention back to the Scott-Ruff feud as the former NXT North American Champion laid out Scott while he was being interviewed by McKenzie Mitchell and told him their feud isn't over until he says it's over.

Following this, it was time for the main event as Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart teamed with Bronson Reed and Dexter Lumis against The Way.

While the men and women aren't legally allowed to wrestle each other in mixed tag team action, the women consistently connected with moves on the men, with the exception of Indi Hartwell and her crush Dexter Lumis.

This all came to a head after Lumis locked in Silence on Johnny Gargano and Hartwell, instead of breaking up the submission, pretended to faint. Lumis immediately relinquished the hold and showed concern for Hartwell, but Indi's strategy appeared to be ruined after Austin Theory decked The Tortured Artist from behind with a knee, knocking him out of the ring.

An enraged Hartwell then threw Theory over the top rope and she feigned fainting again just before Lumis got back to his feet. Dexter once again showed concern for his fallen opponent and he carried Hartwell to the back while Indi winked at the camera on her way out.

The Way's fortunes didn't improve from there and Bronson Reed pinned Austin Theory after connecting with Tsunami a couple of minutes later.

The latest episode of NXT then faded to black while The Colossal One celebrated with the NXT Women's Tag Team Champions.
