The go-home NXT before NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver saw two more matches confirmed for the two-night show, the combatants determined for the Gauntlet Eliminator Battle Royal and a debut teased.

The show opened with a pre-announced match between Cameron Grimes and Roderick Strong, after Strong hit Grimes backstage last week. Grimes was still persistent in his attempts to buy ‘The Undisputed Era’ brand from Strong, leading to another attack before the opening bell.

A clearly emotional Strong tried to channel that passion into his match with Grimes, but it ultimately proved costly. Grimes would distract Strong with an Undisputed Era armband, hitting the Cave-In for a huge win.

Back-to-back video packages are shown. The first includes Karrion Kross training for his NXT Championship match with Finn Balor, while WALTER cuts a promo on Tommaso Ciampa ahead of their United Kingdom Championship showdown.

Up next, Santos Escobar issued an open challenge, which was answered by Tyler Breeze. Prince Pretty gave Escobar more than a fair fight, but it was the Cruiserweight Champion who claimed the win via the Phantom Driver.

Escobar would look to punish Breeze further, getting Raul Mendoza & Joaquin Wilde to further attack his opponent. MSK would make the save, chasing off the assailants, before the Grizzled Young Veterans appeared on the ‘tron to announce their intentions of winning the NXT Tag Team Championships in the triple threat match at Stand & Deliver.

A backstage segment with The Way transitioned into a match for Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell versus Gigi Dolin and Zayda Ramier. The Way claimed a quick win before issuing a challenge to Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon. The NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions were only too happy to accept, and the match was made official for Night Two of TakeOver: Stand & Deliver.

Raquel Gonzalez was attacked by Io Shirai on her way to the ring, only for Gonzalez to beat the NXT Women’s Champion up backstage.

Before Gonzalez’s match, we see Roderick Strong leave the arena, despite his scheduled involvement in the Gauntlet Eliminator Battle Royal. The former Undisputed Era member says he’s done and leaves the CWC.

Zoey Stark put up a strong showing against Gonzalez in their match, but the challenger to the NXT Women’s championship pinned Stark after a devastating one-armed powerbomb. Shirai would try to attack again, but once again Gonzalez would get the better of the champion, throwing her into the plexiglass at ringside.

An extended video package featuring Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly looks at their friendship over the past decade, and considers how they got to this point, ahead of their unsanctioned match at NXT TakeOver next Thursday.

Pete Dunne and Kushida share a backstage altercation in anticipation of the Battle Royal in the main event, before Xia Li defeated Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter in what was supposed to be a tag-team match. Mei Ying watched on from the ramp but, when confronted by Carter, proceeded to choke her out. Li would get the win with a huge spin kick on Catanzaro.

Raquel Gonzalez is then interviewed backstage and is once again attacked by Shirai. This time, Shirai is slammed through a wall by her NXT TakeOver challenger.

Backstage, Tommaso Ciampa cuts a promo on WALTER, saying the United Kingdom champion has awoken ‘The Blackheart’ and to prepare for a long fall from the top of the mountain.

The main-event is an 11-man Eliminator Gauntlet Battle Royal. Jack Atlas and Tyler Rust are the first two eliminated, quickly followed by Austin Theory. Kushida and Pete Dunne eliminate each other, meaning the remaining six participants in the match will compete in the Eliminator Gauntlet.

Leon Ruff and Isiah ‘Swerve’ Scott are thrown out by Bronson Reed, who himself is then chucked over the top rope by the remaining superstars. Both Dexter Lumis and LA Knight eliminate Cameron Grimes after he tries to bribe them, with Knight eventually throwing Lumis out of the ring to win the match.

As the show closes, Io Shirai marches down to the ring to get Gonzalez to come and find her. The two again brawl as talent and officials try to pull them apart. Shirai dives on the group to finally leave Gonzalez on the ground, as the show closes.
