WWE NXT Tag Team Title Match Set For June 1

MSK's second defence

MSK will defend the NXT Tag Team Championship for the second time in a couple of weeks against Legado del Fantasma.

Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza initially staked their claim to an NXT Tag Team Title shot three weeks ago when they and Santos Escobar defeated MSK and Kushida in six-man action. The two teams then bickered back and forth over the last couple of weeks and Legado del Fantasma cemented their position as number one contenders last night when they defeated Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher.

After the match, NXT General Manager William Regal admitted he didn't like how Legado del Fantasma had worked their way to the top, but he couldn't ignore their success and sanctioned the title match for June 1.

This will be the fourth time MSK and Legado del Fantasma have faced off in tag team action. Outside of the aforementioned six-man tag team match, MSK picked up a win over Wilde and Mendoza in the semi-finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic earlier this year. Nash Carter and Wes Lee then defeated Legado del Fantasma again for the vacant NXT Tag Team Title at TakeOver: Stand & Deliver in a match which also included Grizzled Young Veterans.
