WWE NXT UK Returning On September 17

After a five-month hiatus...

Back on April 2, NXT UK was broadcast on BT Sport and the WWE Network. The show was somewhat eventful as Ilja Dragunov was crowned the Number One Contender for WALTER's NXT United Kingdom Championship.

Dragunov is still waiting for his title match, however, as WWE's fourth brand went on hiatus following the March tapings because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Unbesiegbar won't have to wait much longer as WWE announced during NXT TakeOver: XXX that NXT UK is returning on September 17. Reports earlier today noted members of the roster were in London for COVID-19 testing and tapings are set to resume soon from BT Sport Studios in London, England.

The UK brand will look noticeably different upon its return following the #SpeakingOut movement. Former main event talent Joe Coffey is currently suspended after allegations of sexual abuse were made against him. Travis Banks and Ligero were also released while referees Joel Allen and Chris Roberts were fired.

The status of NXT UK's next TakeOver is up in the air. NXT UK TakeOver: Dublin is currently scheduled for October 25 at the 3 Arena in Dublin, Ireland, but the Irish Government introduced new COVID-19 related restrictions on August 18. Sporting events and matches can only take place behind closed doors and indoor gatherings are currently limited to six people from no more than three households.
