WWE NXT WarGames 2021 Results

WarGames!

WWE held a Sunday-night special for the first time since August on December 5 as NXT WarGames was broadcast from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

While there wasn't much hype heading into WarGames, WWE NXT produced a mostly entertaining night of wrestling that showcased stars of the development brand's past, present and future.

WarGames was main evented by the namesake match between Team 2.0 (Carmelo Hayes, Bron Breakker, Tony D'Angelo and Grayson Waller) against Team Black And Gold (Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, LA Knight and Pete Dunne).

The match featured several big moments - including callbacks to #DIY and the famous Johnny Gargano vs. Tommaso Ciampa feud - but it was the new school that ended the night standing tall after Bron Breakker Speared Ciampa through a table before he put the NXT Champion away with a Powerslam.

WWE also spotlighted another rising star in Cora Jade in the Women's WarGames Match as Jade, Raquel Gonzalez, Io Shirai and Kay Lee Ray faced Team Toxic Attraction and Dakota Kai.

The 20-year-old Jade hit the biggest move of the match when she put Jacy Jayne through a table with a Moonsault. Jade landed on her shoulder, though, and she spent the rest of the match in the corner with a kendo stick while the commentary team put over how courageous she was.

Jade then seized the opportunity to win the match after Raquel Gonzalez decimated Jacy Jayne with a Chingona Bomb, and the 20-year-old crawled over the make the cover and pick up the win for the babyfaces.

A couple of title matches also took place at WarGames and both Imperium and Roderick Strong retained their titles against Von Wagner & Kyle O'Reilly and Joe Gacy respectively.

In a major moment, Von Wagner tried to attack Kyle O'Reilly following their match only for Kyle to duck a Clothesline and fire back with some kicks and strikes before he threw up the Undisputed ERA hand sign and said his former faction was a brotherhood. The multi-time NXT Tag Team Champion then announced later in the show that he will face Von Wagner inside a cage on Tuesday.

Duke Hudson also ended the night with less hair after he lost a Hair vs. Hair match to Cameron Grimes.

WWE showcased several NXT talents in vignettes throughout the show as well, including two for Ikemen Jiro which came to an end after the Japanese star ate a lot of junk food and had an almighty defecation in a toilet.
