WWE NXT Women's Championship Match Set for March 10

Io Shirai will face Toni Storm in two weeks' time

Io Shirai will put her NXT Women's Championship on Wednesday 10 March when she meets Toni Storm in singles competition.

The match was made during this week's WWE NXT show, after Shirai had beaten Zoey Stark, when Storm headed out onto the stage to entice the reigning champion into asking general manager William Regal for the match.

Storm has been in pursuit of Shirai's championship since returning from an eight-month hiatus in October, and famously beat the reigning NXT title holder in the final of the 2018 Mae Young Classic.

Having not been involved in the finish of the triple threat match for the championship at NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day, in which Shirai retained her title by pinning Mercedes Martinez, Storm will be looking to claim the prize in her one-on-one opportunity on NXT in two weeks' time.

Shirai has held the NXT Women's Championship since June, beating Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley for the title at NXT TakeOver: In Your House, and has previously seen off the likes of Tegan Nox, Dakota Kai and Candice LeRae.
