WWE Offering Big Money To Re-Sign Talents

WWE wants to keep their top names from leaving

The move of CM Punk from AEW to WWE is only going to spark up more talk of the “wrestling war”, and it seems as though WWE does still have its eyes open despite recent ratings victories and the acquisition of arguably AEW’s biggest star of the last two years.

Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio noted how WWE is very conscious to keep a tight hold on its talents, and doesn’t want anyone leaving. Due to this, there is talk of ‘big money’ being thrown around to the top stars.

“There is a lot of movement in WWE right now as far as they don’t want anyone leaving. There’s a lot of people being offered very big money besides just Punk, much more than they’re making, to stay. A lot of people thought with Endeavor it’s gonna be like nobody gets big contracts and it’s actually been different. From the Endeavor standpoint, if you look at UFC they’re used to paying roughly 17% to talent. In WWE it’s way less than 17%. If it was a legitimate 17% the average mid-level guy there would be making probably $2.5 million a year and that is not the case.”

Big names such as Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, and Becky Lynch supposedly have contracts expiring in the near future.
