WWE Raw After WrestleMania 39 Results

Full results from the Raw after WrestleMania 39

Following the Showcase of the Immortals over the weekend, WWE headed to the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California for the Raw after WrestleMania 39 on Monday, April 3. While the show took place on a historic day for WWE following the sale of the organisation to Endeavor, the episode will ultimately join what is becoming a long list of disappointing post-WrestleMania episodes of Raw.

Check out everything that happened on the Raw after WrestleMania 39 below:

Triple H opens WWE Raw

Following the events of WrestleMania 39, Triple H opened Monday Night Raw, with it being confirmed during his entrance that The Game was still WWE Chief Content Officer.

After being serenaded with chants of "Triple H", the Chief Content Officer welcomed fans to Monday Night Raw and thanked every performer who ever stepped inside the squared circle and the staff behind the scenes who made WrestleMania 39 possible. After that, Triple H thanked the fans before he turned his attention to the WWE-UFC merger, assuring the fans that WWE wouldn't be going anywhere and the same WWE that fans love was going nowhere.

He then repeated WWE's catchphrase of Then. Now. Forever. Together. He then asked the fans to acknowledge Roman Reigns as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, with the arena filling with boos for the man who defeated Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 39.

Cody Rhodes interrupts Roman Reigns. Cody Rhodes & Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa set up for the main event

After making his typically long entrance with Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa and being serenaded with "Roman sucks" chants, Roman Reigns told the fans in attendance to acknowledge him. Before he could utter another word, Cody Rhodes interrupted the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

Cody Rhodes admitted he thought he would be stood on Monday Night Raw as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and an angry Rhodes stated that Roman Reigns was the better competitor, generating huge boos from those in attendance, before Cody said he had Roman Reigns beat but Solo Sikoa saved the Tribal Chief at WrestleMania. Rhodes then stated that he had just one thing he wanted from Roman Reigns and that was a rematch for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

Reigns did not respond, handing the microphone to Paul Heyman and the special counsel asked when Rhodes would like this hypothetical rematch. Cody Rhodes responded that he wanted the match tonight. That, of course, did not work for Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman said Rhodes would never be getting a rematch.

An enraged Rhodes then questioned Roman's decision and demanded to face Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa in a tag team match, a challenge which was accepted with two parameters. Rhodes' tag team partner had to be someone who wrestled at WrestleMania and whoever teamed with him would never get a shot at the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship while Roman Reigns reigned.

Before Cody Rhodes could respond, Brock Lesnar's music suddenly filled the arena to shock Paul Heyman. Lesnar shook Rhodes' hand upon entering the ring to set up a main event clash of Cody Rhodes & Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa.

Of course, the stipulations didn't affect Brock Lesnar because he already couldn't challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship following his loss in a Last Man Standing Match at SummerSlam 2022.

Omos def. Elias

After 37 minutes, it was time for the first match of the night as Omos went one-on-one with Elias following The Nigerian Giant's loss to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 39. Omos made quick work of his opponent, putting him away with a Double Chokeslam after a couple of minutes.

The broadcast cut backstage to The Usos trying to enter Roman Reigns' locker room, only for Paul Heyman to tell them that The Usos' contributions at WrestleMania 39 were appreciated and they should head to the private jet early. After Jey and Jimmy had walked away, Heyman told Reigns he had taken care of the situation.

Austin Theory def. Rey Mysterio

After a brief break, Cathy Kelley interviewed Bad Bunny, who was sat at ringside, as the rapper hyped up Backlash. Rey Mysterio then made his way to the ring and was quickly interrupted by Austin Theory, who goaded the fans in attendance over defeating John Cena at WrestleMania.

Austin Theory then promised to defeat Rey Mysterio before the former WWE Champion promised to make Theory eat his teeth after a 619. A referee headed to the ring to make the match official.

Austin Theory dominated the action throughout the picture-in-picture break and he remained in control once the broadcast returned until Rey fired back and scored a near fall with a Springboard Crossbody. It was then Theory's turn to pick up a near fall following a Spin before Rey set up for the 619, only to be cut down with a massive lariat from the United States Champion.

Rey set up the 619 again but Dominik Mysterio charged to the ring for the distraction, with Rey knocking him off the apron. The distraction allowed Theory to block the 619, though, and hit the A-Town-Down for the victory.

Post-match, Dominik and Damian Priest beat down Rey before Dominik goaded Bad Bunny at ringside. After the rapper tried to calm the situation down, Dominik went to punch Bad Bunny but the rapper blocked it and decked Dominik. Damian Priest then dragged his WrestleMania 37 tag team partner over the barricade and Priest proceeded to beat down Bad Bunny, putting him through the announce table with a Chokeslam. Dominik then turned his attention back to Rey, beating down his father some more to end the segment.

Following a break, Adam Pearce berated Damian Priest backstage for putting Bad Bunny through the announce table. It was later confirmed in the broadcast that Bad Bunny had suffered a storyline separated shoulder and had been taken to a local hospital.

Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn def. The Street Profits

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn made their way to the ring in gear that once again paid tribute to Super Dragon and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla in the next segment on Raw. After basking in the glory of their win at WrestleMania 39, KO and Sami said they wanted to celebrate with a good fight.

This led to an interruption from The Street Profits, who picked up their own win at WrestleMania 39, to set up a tag team clash for after the break.

The match got underway after the commercials and The Street Profits dominated the early going, working over Sami Zayn before he made the hot tag to Kevin Owens. After a picture-in-picture break during which The Street Profits worked over Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn took out the Profits with a Tope Con Giro before a Sunset Flip Bomb to Montez Ford back in the ring for a near fall.

Ford quickly fought back with a huge Blockbuster to Zayn from the shoulders of Angelo Dawkins but KO broke up the pin. Zayn fired back with an Exploder Suplex in the corner before another hot tag to Kevin Owens, who decked Ford with a Cannonball and Swanton Bomb. It was Dawkins' turn to break up a pin on this occasion and Ford followed up with a Tope Con Giro of his own before he missed a Frog Splash.

KO countered with a Stunner before the Helluva Kick from Sami Zayn for the victory.

Seth Rollins stands in the ring

Cathy Kelley interviewed Seth Rollins backstage and the former Universal Champion said he was feeling good following his win over Logan Paul at WrestleMania 39. Rollins said something was missing, though, before he realised the party was out there in the ring. He then told the fans to play his music and he made his way to the squared circle.

Rollins simply stood in the ring as the fans serenaded him with his own music before he headed backstage again.

Bobby Lashley def. Mustafa Ali

Cathy Kelley then interviewed Bobby Lashley about his unhappiness at not wrestling at WrestleMania but he was interrupted by Bronson Reed, the man he eliminated to win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on Friday. Lashley offered to face Bronson Reed tonight but Reed refused, saying he'll face him at a later date.

Mustafa Ali then appeared and an angry Lashley took Ali's advice and threw the former RETRIBUTION leader down the ramp and into the ring to make the match official. After literally one minute, Lashley applied the Hurt Lock to pick up the submission win after Ali tapped out.

Following an ad break, Roman Reigns asked if The Usos had gone before he questioned if Paul Heyman knew Brock Lesnar would be at Raw. Roman Reigns simply stewed, asking how he found himself in a tag team match with Brock Lesnar, with Heyman noting The Beast Incarnate has nothing to lose. Reigns then offered to tag in Solo Sikoa after he smashed Rhodes and Lesnar again.

Rhea Ripley interrupts Bianca Belair

Following her win at WrestleMania 39, Bianca Belair appeared on Raw and put over Asuka. The new SmackDown Women's Champion Rhea Ripley then interrupted Belair and called her the luckiest woman in WWE because she decided to challenge Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania instead of The EST.

Ripley then promised to get back to Belair, though, and beat her in a future match. The Raw Women's Champion took offence at the comment, noting her own willingness to face Rhea Ripley one day so they could see who the best of the best is.

As Rhea Ripley moved to head backstage, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez headed to the ring for their tag team match with Dakota Kai and IYO SKY for a shot at the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships. Rodriguez had a long staredown with Ripley, hinting at a future clash for the SmackDown Women's Championship.

Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez def. Dakota Kai & IYO SKY - WWE Women's Tag Team Title shot

In the first big move of the match, Raquel Rodriguez Powerbombed Liv Morgan over the top rope to take out Dakota Kai and IYO SKY on the outside. Damage CTRL then dominated the action during the picture-in-picture break before Liv Morgan tagged in Raquel Rodriguez when the broadcast returned.

Rodriguez looked to deck her former tag team partner Dakota Kai with a Twisting Senton but Kai got her knees up. Rodriguez then went off the Chingona Bomb and hit it at the second time of asking before Morgan followed up with Oblivion for the win.

After the match, it was announced that Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez will challenge Becky Lynch and Lita for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships on next week's edition of Monday Night Raw.

Matt Riddle returns

The Miz appeared on Raw next and the two-time WWE Champion complained about having to take on Pat McAfee, George Kittle, Shane McMahon, and Snoop Dogg at WrestleMania 39, saying he was done with surprises. This, of course, led to a surprise as Matt Riddle made his way to the ring, almost falling over after he scootered his way to the squared circle.

The Miz attacked Riddle from behind after The Original Bro entered the ring and he took out Miz with a Ripcord Knee and the Bro Derek to stand tall.

Becky Lynch and Lita then hyped up next week's title match alongside Trish Stratus in a backstage interview. It was also announced that Matt Riddle will go one-on-one with The Miz next week.

Brock Lesnar turns heel, attacks Cody Rhodes to close out WWE Raw

It was then time for the main event but before the match could get underway, Brock Lesnar destroyed Cody Rhodes with an F5, much to the shock of the fans in attendance. Lesnar then levelled Rhodes with another F5 and he proceeded to kick a fallen American Nightmare in the face before he took Rhodes to Suplex City. On the outside, Brock suplexed Rhodes over the barricade before he battered Cody with a chair shot and a steel steps shot to the face. Next, Lesnar F5'd Rhodes through the announce table before he tossed The American Nightmare into the ring and F5'd him onto the steel steps.

Lesnar then moved to head backstage, only to grab a steel chair and batter Rhodes some more to end Monday Night Raw. Just as medical attention arrived for Rhodes, Brock Lesnar flipped off the American Nightmare and WWE officials as Raw went off the air.
