Report: WWE Raw Was Rewritten At The Last Minute Yesterday

Plans were scrapped...

Yesterday, WWE taped the July 20 and July 27 episodes of Monday Night Raw. Very little was announced ahead of time for last night's show as the only segment booked in advance was Randy Orton vs. The Big Show in an Unsanctioned match.

Mike Johnson at PWInsider reported TV tapings were scheduled to begin at 1 pm ET but were delayed by over an hour because the company hastily rewrote both episodes of Raw at the last minute.

Dave Meltzer later noted on F4W Online that WWE decided to rewrite the episodes because talent booked on the shows were no longer available and the company wanted to alter their plans for some storylines.

Meltzer noted the company originally planned to broadcast an angle between The Viper and Drew McIntyre on last night's show which would have set up their WWE Championship match at SummerSlam 2020, but WWE decided to continue The Scottish Psychopath's feud with Dolph Ziggler instead. The wrestling behemoth also planned to write Kairi Sane off TV through a storyline injury but this was scrapped in favour of a match between The Pirate Princess and Bayley. Both segments could still take place on next week's edition of Raw.
