WWE Referee Daphanie LaShaunn Suffers Family Tragedy, Launches GoFundMe

WWE referee Daphanie LaShaunn (real name Aja Smith) has suffered a family tragedy as she announced on Instagram that her grandmother, grandfather, uncle and cousin have passed away in a house fire.

"My heart aches. Last night I lost my grandma, grandpa, uncle, and cousin in a house fire. We were at the scene til the very end.. My soul is hollow right now. Please pray for my family as we navigate this unbelievable nightmare. Planning 4 funerals and rebuilding is gonna be tough. My cousin, A family of 7 with 5 kids, are now displaced with nothing to their name. Anything helps even a repost. I’ve posted the gofundme link in my bio and I'll also add it to my story. Thank you all so much," Smith wrote.

As of the time of writing, over $58,000 has been raised for the GoFundMe. The likes of Bayley, Liv Morgan, B-Fab, and Natalya have donated to the GoFundMe, and several anonymous donations have been made.

Aja Smith has been signed to WWE since 2020 as a referee. She is married to former WWE NXT talent Leon Ruffin.
