While reports had noted that John Cena would "very likely" be the headline name of the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2026, that appears to no longer be the case.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select has noted that John Cena is not expected to be a part of this year's WWE Hall of Fame class, and Stephanie McMahon is expected to be the 2026 headliner. McMahon was already announced to be going into the WWE Hall of Fame at the 2025 Wrestlepalooza pay-per-view.
WrestleVotes Radio noted another WWE immortal moment is expected to be featured at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony in 2026 too. The inaugural immortal moment in 2025 was Bret Hart vs. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin at WrestleMania 13, which is considered one of the best pro wrestling matches of all time.
John Cena retired from WWE at the December 13, 2025 episode of Saturday Night's Main Event when he tapped out to Gunther. The finish received a mixed response, and notable fan fury inside of the arena, although Cena has since explained why he chose to tap out to end his career after 20 years with a mantra of "Never Give Up."
