WWE has released a statement following an incident in which Seth Rollins was attacked by a fan in attendance at Monday's Raw in Brooklyn.

Rollins had just taken part in an angle in which he attacked Finn Balor before a scheduled match between the two. Rollins left Balor laying in the ring, and was walking up the entrance ramp when a fan came running around from behind the back barricade near the stage. The individual tackled an unsuspecting Rollins on the ramp, to which officials quickly intervened.

WWE cut to a replay of the Rollins/Balor attack while the incident took place. By the video's conclusion, the incident was under control, and Rollins was shown standing on top of the ramp.

WWE released a statement shortly after the incident, stating, "WWE takes the safety of its performers very seriously. The individual who attacked Seth Rollins has been turned over to the NYPD and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."

ESPN reporter Marc Raimondi tweeted, "A 24-year-old male has been taken into custody in Brooklyn following an attack on WWE wrestler Seth Rollins during the Raw TV show in Brooklyn, an NYPD spokesperson told ESPN. Charges are pending. No name released yet."
