Toni Storm and WWE have parted ways, according to a report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, which is being corroborated by Mike Johnson of PWInsider.

Sapp added on Fightful Select that some in WWE believe that Storm requested her release from the company.

The 26-year-old star was part of the SmackDown brand, which she was on the road with as recently as Tuesday night. Her last match with the company, as it stands, was a triple threat match with Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks last night in Washington, DC.

Storm's last televised match was a loss to SmackDown Women's champion Flair, taped on December 17 and broadcast Christmas Eve.

After competing in the 2017 Mae Young Classic, Storm signed with WWE in the spring of 2018. She went on to win the 2018 Mae Young Classic by defeating Io Shirai in the tournament final at Evolution.

After three years in NXT and NXT UK (where she reigned as Women's champion for most of 2019), Storm joined the SmackDown brand in July. In all, she wrestled six televised matches for the brand between July and December.
