WWE Releases Tyler Breeze, August Grey

Breezango and several 205 Live stars were cut Friday

Following reports of earlier talent cuts, Tyler Breeze and August Grey have been released from WWE, according to separate reports.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful confirmed the release of Breeze, whose exit comes shortly after that of tag team partner Fandango.

Breeze signed to WWE developmental in 2010. He debuted on the main roster in 2015, where he initially feuded with Dolph Ziggler. The following year, he formed a partnership with Fandango.

The two went on to hold the NXT Tag Team titles in 2020. Their last match came on the June 15 episode of NXT, where they defeated Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel of Imperium.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider confirmed the release of Grey.

Known as Anthony Greene for much of his nine-year career, Grey signed with WWE in August of 2020. He debuted on 205 Live last October, and began splitting his time between that show and NXT.

Grey's last match took place on the June 8 episode of NXT, teaming with Ikemen Jiro in a loss to Grizzled Young Veterans.

The list of Friday's talent cuts include:

* Tony Nese

* Ariya Daivari

* Fandango

* Tyler Breeze

* Ever-Rise (Chase Parker and Matt Martel)

* August Grey
