WWE Releases Wendy Choo, Jasper Troy And More From NXT

Several names have been cut by WWE over the last 24 hours, with releases taking place from the promotion’s developmental brand, NXT. According to Fightful Select, the following names have been cut from NXT; Wendy Choo, Adriana Rizzo, Zena Sterling, Anya Rune, Braxton Cole, Jasper Troy, PJ Vasa, Gary Wilson, Ellen Akesson, and Marcus Brown. 

Among the most notable names let go is Wendy Choo, whose run on NXT programming began when she first appeared back in 2019. During her time in NXT she has wrestled under multiple names and gimmicks, such as the magical and ancient Mei Ying, leader of the Tian Sha stable. She later became Wendy Choo, known for wrestling in pyjamas and being remarkably sleepy all the time, before then transitioning over to the Evolve where she won the Evolve Women’s Championship.

Another big name released is Adriana Rizzo, most known for her time spent in the D’Angelo Family. Unfortunately for Rizzo, her last couple of years have been dominated by a torn ACL until her eventual return earlier this year. Jasper Troy is another recognisable name getting released, serving as an NXT regular and even winning the WWE Speed Championship. 

It was noted by Fightful that no main roster releases were expected, with most main roster exits coming post-WrestleMania.
